Auroville Electrical Service was initially started by Mr. Toine Van Megan in the year 1972 with 6 Employees (All Indians) and later was taken over by Mr. Manou in the year 1984 and then by Mr. Ponnusamy in the year 1991 to look after all the Electrical needs of Auroville and Aurovillians. We are looking after TNEB Liasioning work for New Service connection, Line extension, Line Deviation, Transformer upgradation work etc. And also we are doing Internal and External Electrical work. | |||

Presently we are covering almost entire Auroville areas, we now have approximately 800 Service connections in the name of Electrical Executive, Auroville, which includes agricultural service connections too(free of Electricity charges). | |||

Our main objectives are<br> 1.To get H.T. Service connections for Auroville, which will reduce the Electricity bill amount and minimize the power interruptions and fluctuations.<br> 2.To get an approval from TNEB for 1 cable multiple service connections to reduce cost of U.G. Cables and electricity bill<br> 3.To lay under ground cables within the City Center area and to remove all the existing over head lines, which will reduce the power interruptions and fluctuations.<br> 4.To connect Service Area transformer (Abri SS III) with Matrimandir SS (Auro centre SS I) for healthy power supply to Residential zone area and also to minimize the power interruptions.<br> 5.To get into a wheeling arrangement with TNEB. (by providing Energy generated by Windmill (erected by Auroville) to TNEB grid and getting same amount of Electricity here in Auroville)<br> 6.To get a Separate Section office for Auroville to rectify break-downs and faults quickly.<br> | |||
