It is very natural that the heavenly bodies – the sun, the stars and the planets – because of their beauty and luminous mystery, should have become the first symbols of eternity for men to worship. It was not surprising that our ancestors made

the rhythms and metres of the stars

Significant of the movements of our fate. (Savitri, p.74)

For the solitary shepherd this feeling of belonging to the stars, of being one with them, was in the beginnings all warmth and light and lightness. Only later did it degenerate into abject fear of their supposed demonic power.

Here in our game the stars regain their shining innocence and become again the luminous mothers, the protecting angels, the guardians of man on his difficult path of evolution.

JUPITER

Jupiter is the lord of the noosphere, our mental heaven, representing the world of ideas and ideals. He governs all in us which strives for justice and freedom, understanding and comprehension. He stands for our aspiration to

knowledge

as opposed to our ignorance, for the higher parts of our mental being as opposed to the mere mechanical mind, and he is the protector of the sincere seeker, the conscientious

scientist

the discerning thinker and scholar. The soaring eagle is his symbol, and the path to him and his heights is a life dedicated to

study

and untiring, selfless research.
