The secret behind =1

Behind, above, around, as well as in the very heart of =1 stands Sri Aurobindo. To the editors, he is the Guru, and as such the very origin and substance of all their thoughts, acts, and feelings, their hopes and dreams and aspiration.

One might as, and indeed some pious people have asked, “What is the use of such a journal? How can it stand beside the truly monumental and all-embracing works of the Master himself? Surely any additional material is not only superfluous but redundant, if not sacrilegious.”

Sri Aurobindo warned his disciples that his teaching was not the formula for a new religion, not a doctrine; that his work did not consist in erecting a mausoleum of words.

Sri Aurobindo embodies a new level of consciousness, a new intensity of awareness, which makes for infinite possibilities of expression. He was the first spiritual teachers to emphasize that we inhabit not only a universe where consciousness can manifest in an infinite number of ways, but also a universe in evolution, and what is more, a universe where evolution itself evolves.

This fact is the justification and raison d’être of ‘Equals One’, the journal of the ever-evolving manifestation of the many-faceted truth, of the One.
