Tapana Delta
Once upon a time – no, no, I mean in a far away sector of the universe, there is a tiny little planet with cool green valleys. But it has a dominant species with a curious quirk: they can't conceive of a spacetime continuum. They experience events in time sequences which they call past, present and future. It's like a dog running around the house. He calls the first corner past, the second corner present, and the third and forth corners future. And they believe that their life has only three corners: childhood, maturity, old age. The forth corner they call birth when it is behind them, and death when it is in front. So they are full of foreboding rounding that corner.
One of the children of Tapana Delta, hearing about this planet, said, “But how stupid! I will go and tell them not to be afraid.”
But we have tried that. We sent one of our children. And when he tried to tell them there is no death, they became so angry that they tried to kill him. He is still there, but he has not succeeded. And because they are afraid of the corner, they are always angry and try to bite each other.
