Entity::COLAAP scales up for Campaigns

After a successful first year of the Acres for Auroville campaign, we are scaling up our activities by launching the GreenAcres campaign and Acres for Auroville Phase 2 (with AVI as for Phase 1). Now, all of the Master Plan area is covered: A4A for the entire City area and GreenAcres for the Greenbelt.

A major help and support for these actions is the website: www.colaap.org – COLAAP is an abbreviation for Collaboration for Auroville Area Protection. This is the official site of ‘Lands for Auroville Unified - LFAU’ and it aims at raising financial and other resources for securing and protecting a consolidated physical base for Auroville. This unified base is essential if Auroville is to develop her full potential!!

We are pleased to announce that the COLAAP website has recently been highly upgraded and enriched with fresh material, beautiful pictures and increased functionality. The site is easy to navigate and provides much information and many links, as well as “direct donate” buttons.

COLAAP also hosts the A4A and GreenAcres campaigns, providing a login for donors with confidential access to their Donor Pages and donation history, as well as each campaign’s Success Barometer.

We take this opportunity to remind everyone that consolidation of the remaining land in the Master Plan area should be our highest priority. We only have to look at the private incongruous developments coming up around and INSIDE the planned township area of Auroville. These developments are growing everywhere and fast. Their goals are monetary in nature and not in line with Auroville's aim, nor with land regeneration and sustainable living. Depletion of water reserves, increased pollution, and traffic are associated factors that affect all of us in the bioregion.

The time has come for each one sympathetic to Auroville to ask herself or himself what she or he can do.

Securing and safeguarding the maximum possible land in Auroville’s Masterplan area is our common goal and it is in the common interest of all. At the same time, it is a huge task that has become urgent! A major large-scale effort for raising resources for land purchase is needed to support the Land Board in their vital work. To do this, we need to expand and contact a much larger group of potential donors and call on EVERYONE to collaborate.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

You can support and collaborate by:

  • sharing and posting a link to: www.colaap.org on your websites, also connecting to COLAAP on Facebook, and taking it further on your social networks sending our two fliers and our consolidated announcement to your mailing list, your newsletter, your friends and to all those who might collaborate - available in the “Fliers and Letters”section of each campaign on: www.colaap.org
  • subscribing to our updates and “Stay in touch” through www.colaap.org. contributing your ideas and work for LFAU! You are most welcome to contact us at: lfau (at) auroville.org.in, 0413 2622 657, and at the LFAU desk at Town Hall at the usual office timings. LFAU’s secretary Jothi will direct you to the right person.
  • making a donation via www.colaap.org and obtain a donor login, or by a transfer from your Financial Service account to Account 0100 either as an unspecified donation for land or by specifying one of these 3 choices:
  • General Land Fund (the land Board can use it as they see fit)
  • Acres for Auroville: A4A (the City area)
  • GreenAcres (the Greenbelt)

All contributions - small or big - are welcome and appreciated!

Your participation helps to create a synergetic field of action and intent, adding points of light and force for a harmonious and beautiful Auroville.
