The Zodiac

In this new era the old houses of the sun, the old constellations, acquire new significances and relationships. The zodiac has always been to man a celestial reminder of his own evolution, turning around an inner sun while progressing slowly towards a still unknown goal. In a vast spiral, mankind has been lifted out of its neolithic tribal mentality into a unitary vision of the universe and its own being. Our spirituality slowly detaches itself from its old religious framework, our sensibilities become socialised and our political outlook planetary rather than national. Our ancient symbols have lost their former compelling force, substituting for it a rich choice of opportunities, and, far from forcing us into narrow moulds or into stultifying corsets of an inexorable fate, they call us as free partners into their joyful celestial dance.

TAURUS

The winged bull of the Assyrians, worshipped in Egypt as Apis, in Greece sacred to Apollo, is also the playmate and vehicle of the gods, especially Zeus and Shiva. He is an obedient and faithful servant of the divine.

What he brings us is an important gift for our next step,

stability

an unwavering steadiness, an immutable constancy to stay on the difficult path, a

resoluteness

in fulfilling one's duty to one's higher self. The individual polarity to this firmness is the plastic attitude of the willing

instrument

of the divine part of our being, a readiness of the lower parts to be a tool, a vehicle for the god in us.
