The Zodiac

In this new era the old houses of the sun, the old constellations, acquire new significances and relationships. The zodiac has always been to man a celestial reminder of his own evolution, turning around an inner sun while progressing slowly towards a still unknown goal. In a vast spiral, mankind has been lifted out of its neolithic tribal mentality into a unitary vision of the universe and its own being. Our spirituality slowly detaches itself from its old religious framework, our sensibilities become socialised and our political outlook planetary rather than national. Our ancient symbols have lost their former compelling force, substituting for it a rich choice of opportunities, and, far from forcing us into narrow moulds or into stultifying corsets of an inexorable fate, they call us as free partners into their joyful celestial dance.

A mechanism no more or work of Chance,

CAPRICORN

The very last of the houses of the sun, the ‘Capricorn’ is also the mountain goat, the ibex, venerated by our stone-age ancestors and painted in their sacred caves,the being of the snowy summits, the intrepid climber on heights inaccessible to ordinary men.

At the apex of the world we are given the easy contemplation of eternity in ultimate, imageless

vision

of the infinite, the final widening of consciousness into unpartitioned truth.

This empyrean vision opens us to inviolable

ecstasy

the eternal rapture of standing alone on the summit of being where everything is our very own self.

But the way to this zenith is the humble attitude of constant

adoration

an adoration which in the beginning may have been dualistic but which becomes at the end of the ascent monistic – because God alone is there.
