In this new era the old houses of the sun, the old constellations, acquire new significances and relationships. The zodiac has always been to man a celestial reminder of his own evolution, turning around an inner sun while progressing slowly towards a still unknown goal. In a vast spiral, mankind has been lifted out of its neolithic tribal mentality into a unitary vision of the universe and its own being. Our spirituality slowly detaches itself from its old religious framework, our sensibilities become socialised and our political outlook planetary rather than national. Our ancient symbols have lost their former compelling force, substituting for it a rich choice of opportunities, and, far from forcing us into narrow moulds or into stultifying corsets of an inexorable fate, they call us as free partners into their joyful celestial dance.

SAGITTARIUS

With the archer, the centaur of the Greeks, a splendid symbol of the oneness of higher and lower soul force, we are nearing our great goal.

The horse-man brings the gift of

effortlessness

to those who have become one, in body and soul, with their highest aim.

On the quality of your aim will depend the quality of your life, and to be in full union with the Divine is the final aim.

The secret of the archer is that he has his soul centre already in his

aim

through his continuous one-pointed

concentration

which is his path: he is already there; he has arrived! His whole consciousness has been projected forward. His longing precedes his arrow to the target.

Concentrate entirely on the one thing needful and put away, if they come, all ideas and forces that want to disturb it or make you deviate.
