General Information and Background
AuroNet Connect Is a community network facility providing email communication within Auroville for residents and guests of Auroville. They provide the following services:
1. E-mail: to start an e-mail account contact the browsing centre at the Solar Kitchen or fill in the online registration form – http://auroville.org.in/register.html.
The annual subscription rate for individuals is Rs 600/- per year, and for groups and units it is Rs 1,200/- per year.
2. Browsing Centre: There is a browsing centre located on top of the Solar Kitchen, available for Aurovilians and guests of Auroville, with an hourly rate of Rs 24/- for online access.
3. AV Net: The intranet for Auroville – http://www.auroville.org.in. Account log ins for Aurovilians and Newcomers only, at no charge.

Members and Affiliations
AuroNet Connect is a service conducted under the ADPS Trust (Aurelec Data Processing Service), which has been the entry point for Information technology into Auroville, and India, since the early '70s. In providing internet and email access they collaborate with Auroville Network.
Aims and Objectives
The major aim of this service is building up a channel of internal online communication for Aurovilians. Over the years this has developed into a partly self-supporting activity.
