Bharat Nivas
Bharat Nivas, the Pavilion of India, serves the physical and cultural necessities of Auroville by housing several service units and initiatives, as well as providing spaces for events in the Sri Aurobindo Auditorium, Kala Kendra, SAWCHU, and Bhavishyaté.
Sri Aurobindo Center for Studies, Bharat Nivas
The Resource Library opens its doors in a new space. Started in the early days of Bharat Nivas, it serves as a Resource Centre of the tradition of India.
It contains:
- The Shastras – Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Gita
- Epics and Classical Literature
- Works of Art, Theatre, Architecture + Journal
- Some Contemporary Literature and Scientific Studies
Of note, there are some significant Encyclopedias on the history of the civilization of India. Also some archival material of special interest. As we enter the Library, there is a collection of the works of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.
The Resource Library is open to the surrounding environment – to the air and trees… with wide spaces and comfortable seating. It offers a space for learning and meditation! Be welcome to breathe in it.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 9:30 to 12:30pm; Wednesday – 1:30 to 4pm
