From the Entity::FAMC re Entity::BCC Membership

Following the resignations of Christine, Jacques and Meena, there are now three positions in the Budget Coordination Committee (BCC) which need to be filled. As mentioned in the BCC mandate, general criteria for being a BCC member are:

  1. Proven commitment to the realization of a collective organization and economy as envisaged by the Mother for Auroville.
  2. A capacity to see beyond the particular needs of their own representative area of work or interest.
  3. An openness and concern for the well being of all aspects of Auroville’s maintenance and development.
  4. A capacity to work in a team and to give sufficient time to the work, in a spirit of goodwill, collaboration and transparency.
  5. An affinity and / or experience with community work in the domain of budgeting and accounting.
  6. An in-depth knowledge in any of the areas represented in the BCC.

In addition to the above, the BCC is looking for someone with experience and knowledge of the Service sector, particularly the so-called 'Prosperity' services (PTDC, Farms etc.), to join the committee as this is one area which needs to be strengthened.

Also specially needed are persons who are good with “numbers”, finance and accounting concepts, and working with Excel/ spreadsheets. Skill in in-person communication and facility with the Tamil language would also be valued.

Aurovilians who are interested to join the BCC may please write to the FAMC at famc (at) auroville.org.in before 13 April 2021, with a statement of their interest/ aspiration and a profile of their relevant skills and work experience.

FMI about the BCC mandate, functioning and responsibilities, see the BCC mandate. Thank you for considering to actively participate in this important service to the community. We look forward to hearing from you.
