Entity::Auroville Council
Dear Auroville Council, the ATDC Standing Order (No. 1/ 2019 of 4 June 2019) states that the ATDC will consist of a maximum of 15 members.
No minimum number is mentioned.
On 15 of June 2021 an Office Order was issued by the Entity::Foundation Office, whereby 7 nominees were given a term till the 14 of June 2023 and one nominee for one year. All appointments were done by the Foundation Office.
- Anbu, Toby, Saravanan, Sreevatsa and Lakshay were renominated.
- Elaine was the Working Committee nominee.
- Debo was nominated by the Secretary.
- Vidhya was nominated for one year.
Recently, Saravanan, Lakshay, Elaine and Debo handed in their resignations. As the appointment was done by the Foundation Office it has to be accepted by them as well.
Additionally, on the 7 of January 2022, Dr. Seetharaman was appointed by the Auroville Foundation as a representative of the Governing Board to replace Debo.
Dr. Seetharaman, Officer on Special Duty, Auroville Foundation, has been appointed Member Secretary of ATDC and Member in charge of Finance and Accounts of ATDC. Prior to the appointment of Dr Jayanti Ravi he served as an interim Secretary, for some months.
